Ace Terminology-Related Plea for Help

heretic-paladin:

Tumblr! I have recently run across a handful of terms that I have not covered in my asexual visibility vlog, Tales of a Homoromantic Ace. Not only was I previously unfamiliar with some of these terms, I need HALP defining them. I don’t want to put misinformation out there! Also, if there have any important terms I missed, please point them out :)

These are the terms I’ve covered so far:
-sexual attraction vs. sex drive
-romantic attraction
-(prefix)-romantic/romantic orientation
-asexuality vs. celibacy
-gray-asexuality
-demisexuality
-primary vs. secondary sexual attraction
-repulsed and indifferent

These are the terms I still haven’t defined but want to and need a little HALP with:
-zucchini
-queerplatonic
-squish
-lithromantic
-demiromantic
-wtfromantic

Thanks :)

Question for asexuals and demisexuals (and aromantics and demiromantics):

cdaadarchives:

(tumblr user consultingdetectiveandarmydoctor here, i can’t post in tracked tags from my actual account for some reason, so please direct answers onto this post which I will check, or preferably into my ask box, merci beaucoup~)

I’m a demiromantic asexual. At least, I think I am. How does one know when one is demi- or a-? Since demisexuality happens when an emotional bond is formed, that’s all fine. But if one has never had such an intense emotional bond as to begin to desire romantic or sexual attachment to a person, how is one supposed to distinguish between demi- or a-? I call myself demiromantic because I think that I could be capable of romantic attraction if I ever have a great enough emotional connection, but I could be entirely wrong, of course, and I could simply be aromantic.

So what I’m asking is: (and this is purely for personal reasons, I am in full support of all sexualities and acknowledge them all) how does one know without any prior experience if one is demiromantic/sexual or aromantic/sexual?

Looking For Asexual Bloggers

I would like to feature links to other asexual blogs on the additional pages of my blog. I hope to provide as many sources as possible, and it would be wonderful to offer links to other aces willing to answer questions. I’m looking for individuals of varying romantic orientations, as well as demisexuals, grey-asexuals, and aces with kinks.

If you would like a link of your blog to be featured, send me a message with your sexual/romantic orientation and I will most definitely add it.

Thank you!

Gray-romantic

miscellaneousorangeramblings:

A gray-romantic (grey-romantic) is a person with a romantic orientation that is somewhere between aromantic and romantic.

For example, a gray-romantic may:

  • Experience romantic attraction but not very often.
  • Experience romantic attraction, but not desire romantic relationships.
  • Desire relationships which are not quite platonic and not quite romantic.

One type of gray-romantic is called demiromantic. Demiromantics do not experience primary romantic attraction for a person, but are capable of experiencing secondary romantic attraction after forming an emotional connection.

sircharlesofbutt:

also, after years of not really being sure of where I fall on the romantic spectrum (and claiming to be aromantic for convenience), I think I’m going to settle for grey-romantic. Here’s the definition from the AVENwiki:

Demisexuality: Just as not all aces are aromantic, not all demis and graces are hetero

demisexuality:

For some reason, I keep seeing people all over the place who seem to think demis and graces are all hetero.

Yes, there are a lot of hetero demis and graces, and right now they seem to be the most vocal of the community. But we also have gay, lesbian, bi, pan, etc demis and graces, some of whom…
